kukri knife leather sheath

This leather knife sheath was created for a customer who had asked me to make one that was better than the flimsy pleather sheath that had come with the knife that he bought. ​

After creating a custom template using the original knife sheath, I assembled the sheath and did a stitch around the edge of the sheath making sure to leave enough room to slide the knife in and out of the sheath as easily as possible. As I do with all of the leather knife sheaths that I make, a welt was added around the edge of the knife sheath to protect the stitching from the knife blade (shown in bottom picture).
