custom leather book cover

A customer contacted me and wanted to know if I could restore or recreate a book cover that he had purchased 30 years ago while in England in which he kept his 5-Subject spiral notebook. He really wanted the original design preserved and placed on the new book cover.

As I looked over the old book cover (shown) I determined that it was a pressed paper product and I was amazed that it lasted as long as it did. So, I cut out the design from the front and the back of the original book cover, did what I could to clean up, glue up and tighten the edges then I stitched it to oil-tanned cowhide and Double Loop laced the book cover edge with pockets inside to hold the 5-Subject spiral notebook's front and back cover. ​The customer's review is below
