a display site, not a retail website

I realized that it has been a while since I posted anything in this Blog. So, I decided to resume my postings with this tidbit of information regarding our website.

When it comes to our leathercrafts website, americanleathercrafts.com, I do not take a capitalistic approach, so this is not a shopping cart site with prices. Since I do primarily custom handmade leatherwork from cut to finish, i.e. from scratch, our website is more of a display or showcase of the items that I have created and that my wife, Karen, has painted. When I post the items on the website, I try to add information about the item as well as information about the person(s) for whom I created that item.

I find that this has been successful in bringing customers who appreciate quality custom handmade leather products and are willing to pay for that quality. I enjoy communicating with each customer to make sure that we are on the same page with what they are wanting to have me create for them. It may not make me rich, but it is satisfying.

Frank is a Leather crafter who is very detailed and designs the custom Leather products that we create, many of which Karen has painted. As products are inspired and created, we will put them up for display on our website.
